My name is Mike Dauplaise, and I’m the primary writer and editor on the Fun With Obits team. You can read my own obituary on our sample page, which not surprisingly was the most difficult one I’ve had to write.

I began writing creative obits for friends and family after seeing one in the local newspaper that had a few of us laughing out loud. We thought it was a great final tribute, and my friend Kathie Tilot mentioned she would want an obituary like that written for her. Thus, Kathie “volunteered” to become my first subject, and her obit also appears on our sample page.

I’m married to Bonnie Groessl, the love of my life and an awesome healer through her business, The Bridge to Health (www.thebridgetohealth.org). We live in Green Bay, Wisconsin (USA), and enjoy every day to its fullest.
