The Process No one knows you better than you do, so the
information you provide is the best starting point for your custom
obituary. Fill out our
questionnaire to get things started,
print it out and either fax or mail it to us (information below). The questionnaire gives us the basics, but that’s not your whole life story, is it? Of course not!
Think about whom you would like us to contact to get some of the good stories, anecdotes and other fun sidelights that make you uniquely you. Siblings and good friends often are better information sources than your spouse, simply because this can be an emotional exercise for a couple.
Of course, we can do creative obituaries on short notice if your loved one has just passed away as well. See Thomas Scheld’s obituary on the sample page for an example of one.
We’ll put together a first draft upon receiving the first half of the total payment. (Contact us to discuss rates.) After you review the draft, we’ll use your feedback to produce a final version. Minor changes beyond that are free, but any major changes (as determined by Fun With Obits) will be charged an hourly rate.
You’ll then have a working document that you can update yourself as needed or have us do for you. We suggest updating at least as often as you update your will.
